Straight Ahead Outreach.

A family in strife, and this entire family has been through the ringer.  This makes me very sad because, as you say, our impact is simply not enough.   It takes family, church and friends to help a person ‘take back their life’.  Unfortunately, we don’t all get to pick our family and that’s when prayers and support are even more necessary.  It breaks my heart that with everything they’ve ALL been through, they now have another stumbling block to get over, but I do believe, they will get over the hurdle and move forward – maybe not at the pace we want, but God does have a plan for them.

Dear Jehovah, please wrap your arms around this family. May the Holy Spirit awaken in this parent and provide the inner strength needed to understand and acknowledge the possibilities and purpose of their life.    May this parent and these children feel the power of your love, support and belief in them.  Protect these children Dear Lord, from any further strife, and fear.   In Jesus name, Amen.

1COR 3:6-9   6“I planted the seed in your hearts, and Apollos watered it, but it was God who made it grow.  7It’s not important who does the planting, or who does the watering.  What’s important is that God makes the seed grow.  8The one who plants and the one who waters work together with the same purpose.  And both will be rewarded for their own hard work.  9For we are both God’s workers. And you are God’s field. You are God’s building.

Whether the seed of a tree, a flower, a vegetable, the seed of human life, or even a thought or idea  ~ ‘It Grows’, with proper care – it grows up, out, larger and expands for all to see, to use, and share.  The small gift of a seed that God  not only provided, but  Makes It Grow should never be taken for granted.

Did you know that all ‘plants’  need 7 (yes, seven) thing to grow? Try to compare this to life as you read :-)

Room

Plants rooted in small places will have their roots crowded which results in small amounts of growth.

Temperature

Low temperatures can result in poor growth or no growth. Not all plants grow best in the same temperature range. High temperatures speed up the normal living process — the hotter it gets, the more they suffer! Of course, less tolerant or weaker plants suffer even more. The longer high temperatures persist, the greater the injury to the plant.

Light

Plants need to be close to the light.  The further away, the darker it becomes.  A plant cannot tell you when it’s not getting enough light.  It’s stems will get thin and it will lean toward the light – instinctively.

Water

Without water or too much water, a plant dies.  When watering you should moisten the soil by issuing enough water so it starts to come out the hole in the bottom of the pot (it’s had enough for now).

Air

Plants use carbon dioxide and return oxygen.  Smoke, gas, and air pollutants can damage and/or kill plants.  Take some, give some.  The law of nature.

Nutrients

Nutrients are ‘taken up’ by the plant through its ‘roots’.  Fertilizer will help keep the soil supplied.

Time

It takes time to grow and care for plants.  Some take more time than others.  Getting plants to fruit or flower – can be a challenge.

Tree roots may not always go down deep – but, they can spread outward as far as is the tree is tall.  Roots anchor  trees to the soil, absorb water and soil minerals for growth.  Dormant buds lay in wait!

We are not so much unlike the nature that surrounds us.  A nature that Jehovah God created for our sustenance, use,  and pleasure.  The only requirement is to tend to our fields.  Who waters, who plants – doesn’t matter. What matter’s is that God makes it grow, just like he makes (allows) us to grow.
